About the ESPC
Background
Formed in 2002, the Email Sender & Provider Coalition works to fight spam, address deliverability, and promote legitimate marketing communications. Our membership provides delivery services to much of the U.S. marketplace.
ESPC Mission Statement
Our mission is to educate our membership on current and emerging business and legal developments affecting our membership, including emerging privacy, data protection, and AI laws and rule, and to continue to develop and refine best practices that foster innovation, industry growth, and consumer trust.

ESPC Leadership
The ESPC’s activities are directed by our Board of Directors. The Board is currently comprised of individuals from the following Companies:

What we are doing
Our highest priority is to educate our members on the latest trends, policy developments, and business issues. We bring together industry leaders and speakers from the FTC, leading law firms, and practitioners from some of the most innovative global technology companies to ensure our members remain on the forefront of their industries. Some of our activities include:
Member Education:
- Industry developments affecting commercial messaging
- Deliverability best practices and monthly member call on deliverability, including troubleshooting / remediation
- Regular updates on developments in privacy, data protection, and AI law, regulation, and legislation
Policy:
- Legal developments at the Federal, State, and international levels
- Litigation and regulatory enforcement updates
- Member webinars and in-person events with policy updates
- Monthly Legislative member calls
- Best practices for deliverability
- New client on-boarding best practices
Technology:
- Changes in email handling at major receivers and carriers across email and SMS
- Updates with DMARC
- IPV6 and its effect on email, other digital messaging
Standing Committees
The ESPC currently has 2 standing committees that coordinate the development and delivery of member content.
Legislative Committee: Tracks and reports on relevant state, federal, and international regulatory and legislative action.
Deliverability and Compliance Committee: Tracks and reports on evolving and recurring deliverability issues observed in the marketplace. Develops and communicates best practice statements as well as compliance protocols for those standards.
