Important new data protection case against Google

This case (GOOGLE INC. v. VIDAL-HALL), decided on March 27 by the UK Court of Appeal (Civil Division) is important because it allowed for the extraterritorial application of UK law and allowed for non-pecuniary damages for a privacy violation.  The world is indeed growing smaller by the moment.  Google is likely to appeal to a higher court given the importance of the decision.
